Salt + Stillness: Sound Healing & Meditation in Swansea

Sunday afternoons have a way of filling up with "Sunday scaries": tomorrow's to-do list, the washing pile, the week ahead. Salt + Stillness is our answer. Every Sunday at 4:30pm at The Kitchen Pilates + Movement in Swansea, we dim the lights, lie down and let sound and stillness do the work.

What is Salt + Stillness?

Salt + Stillness is a group sound healing and meditation session held at The Kitchen at Pacific HQ, 29 Josephson St, Swansea. You get cosy on a mat with blankets and cushions while your facilitator guides you into a relaxed state with breath, gentle meditation and live sound.

There is nothing to perform and nothing to get right. Your only job is to lie still and listen.

What is sound healing?

Sound healing (you may also hear "sound bath") uses instruments such as singing bowls, chimes, drums and voice to create layers of tone and vibration. People have used sound in rest and ritual for a very long time, and today many women use sound baths as a way to unwind and meditate when sitting in silence feels too hard.

We keep it simple and honest: a sound session is a deeply relaxing experience, and many women tell us they leave feeling calmer, lighter and better rested. We don't make medical promises; we just make space.

Why it works so well for busy women

If traditional meditation has always felt like a wrestling match with your own brain, you are not alone. Sound gives your mind something gentle to focus on, which can make it easier to let go.

Women come to Salt + Stillness for:

  • Rest without guilt. Lying down for an hour, and calling it self care.

  • A softer Sunday. A calm close to the weekend before Monday arrives.

  • Mindfulness made easy. Guided, not "figure it out yourself".

  • Community. Shared stillness in a room full of women.

When is Salt + Stillness?

What to bring

Comfy, warm layers (your body cools as it relaxes), socks, a water bottle and an eye mask if you have one. We provide mats, blankets and cushions. Arrive five to ten minutes early so you can settle in before the sound begins.

We are at Pacific HQ in Swansea with on-site and street parking and an accessible location, a short drive from Caves Beach, Blacksmiths, Pelican and Belmont.

Salt + Stillness FAQ

Do I need meditation experience?

No. Salt + Stillness is fully guided and suitable for complete beginners. If your mind wanders, that is completely normal. Just come back to the sound.

What if I fall asleep?

Then you clearly needed it. Plenty of women drift off, and that is very welcome here (we won't tell anyone if you snore).

Is sound healing suitable for everyone?

Most women find it very gentle. If you are pregnant, have epilepsy, a sound sensitivity or any medical condition, check with your GP first and let your facilitator know before the session starts.
